Description

Delicious air fryer churro bites that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfect for sharing or enjoying alone.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder

Instructions

  1. In a pan, combine water, butter, salt, and sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat and gradually add in the flour, stirring continuously until the dough comes together smoothly. Turn off the heat and remove the pan from the stove.
  2. Transfer the dough to a mixing bowl and let it cool for 4-5 minutes. Then add the egg and vanilla extract. Use an electric mixer to combine until smooth.
  3. Transfer the dough into a piping bag. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and spray the basket with nonstick cooking spray.
  4. Pipe bite-sized churros, ensuring not to overcrowd the basket. Lightly brush butter on top of the churros and cook for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  5. In a shallow bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon. Once churros are cooked, toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat evenly. Optionally, brush with melted butter or spray before tossing to help adhere.

Notes

Serve warm with dips like chocolate syrup, honey, or Nutella.
