A simple and delicious side dish featuring green beans roasted to perfection with garlic and Parmesan cheese.

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Rinse the green beans under cold water, trim the stem ends, and pat them dry.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the green beans, olive oil, minced garlic, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. Toss the mixture until the green beans are evenly coated.
  5. Spread the green beans in a single layer on a large baking sheet.
  6. Roast for 15 to 20 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through.
  7. Once roasted, sprinkle grated Parmesan over the hot beans and toss gently.
  8. Drizzle with lemon juice if desired and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For added warmth, include red pepper flakes. A squeeze of lemon brightens the dish.
