- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup white sugar
- ¾ cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2½ cups chopped apples, peeled and cored
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13″ baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well blended.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, vegetable oil, brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla extract until mixed thoroughly.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until everything is combined. Fold in the chopped apples gently.
- Pour the batter into the greased baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, or until the cake is golden and set in the center.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan before slicing and serving.
Notes
Serve with a dusting of powdered sugar, vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, or whipped cream. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week.
