Description
A warm, moist cinnamon apple cake perfect for cozy fall evenings, family gatherings, or as a delightful dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ¼ cups chopped apples (peeled, approximately 2 medium apples)
- ¼ cup softened butter
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ cup dark brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9-inch round baking pan with non-stick spray or butter.
- In a large bowl, combine softened butter, granulated sugar, and dark brown sugar. Beat until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then incorporate vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt. Gradually mix into the butter-sugar blend on low speed until just combined.
- Gently fold in chopped apples and walnuts without overmixing.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for about 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and serve warm or at room temperature with vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce if desired.
Notes
Select sweet and tart apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for the best flavor. Avoid overmixing to keep the cake light and fluffy.
