Description

A comforting and creamy chicken dish made effortlessly in a crockpot, filled with garlic and rich parmesan flavors.


Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 cloves Fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Grated parmesan cheese
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 0.25 cup Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts at the bottom of the crockpot in a single layer.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together chicken broth, heavy cream, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dollop cream cheese over the chicken, then pour the cream mixture on top.
  4. Dot with butter and sprinkle grated parmesan over the mixture.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours, or high for 2 to 3 hours.
  6. Remove chicken, shred or slice, and return to the sauce.
  7. Stir gently, adjust seasoning, then sprinkle with parsley and crushed red pepper flakes before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, use low-fat cream cheese or reduced-fat parmesan. The assembled crockpot can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours before cooking.
