Description

Funfetti cookies are a delightful twist on traditional cookies, perfect for birthdays and celebrations. Their buttery goodness and colorful sprinkles make them a favorite treat for all ages.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a mixer bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar on medium-low speed for about 4 minutes until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture, beating until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the sprinkles, being careful not to overmix.
  7. Shape the dough into 1.5-tablespoon balls and place them on the prepared cookie sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each.
  8. Bake for 11-12 minutes, until edges are lightly browned but centers remain soft.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
