Description

A delightful treat that combines rich chocolate, sweet caramel, and peanut butter, perfect for snacks and desserts.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 5 ounces evaporated milk
  • 1 bag (14 ounces) caramels
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan.
  2. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat softened butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until creamy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until well combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips.
  7. Spread half of the cookie dough into the prepared pan and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  8. Melt caramels and evaporated milk together using a double boiler.
  9. Once melted, mix in peanut butter until well combined.
  10. Spread the caramel mixture over the baked cookie dough base.
  11. Drop spoonfuls of remaining cookie dough on top of the caramel layer.
  12. Bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until the top is light golden brown.

Notes

Let the bars cool slightly before cutting for cleaner slices. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
