Marshmallow Rice Bubbles Halloween Brains

Description

Delightful and spooky treats perfect for Halloween that are easy to make and sure to be a hit at gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 85 g unsalted butter
  • 6 cups regular marshmallows
  • 4 cups Rice Bubbles (Krispies)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Red food colouring

Instructions

  1. Prepare a Bain-Marie by putting 1/2 cup of water into a small pot and bring to a boil. Place a large heatproof bowl over the pot.
  2. Add the butter and marshmallows to the bowl and whisk until smooth (2-4 minutes).
  3. Remove the bowl from the pot, then add the salt and red food colouring, whisking together.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, add the Rice Bubbles and pour the marshmallow mixture over them, mixing thoroughly to coat.
  5. Oil your hands and shape the mixture into ovals, creating a dent in the middle with a butter knife.
  6. Dip a toothpick into the food colouring and draw veins on the shaped treats.
  7. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.

Notes

Make sure to grease your hands well to prevent sticking. Feel free to get creative with food coloring!
