Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef (lean or regular)
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth or water
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup shredded cheese (optional, such as mozzarella, cheddar, or Italian blend)
Instructions
- Heat a large pot over medium heat. Add the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Sauté until the beef is fully browned and the onions turn translucent.
- Pour in the tomato sauce and beef broth (or water), then sprinkle in the Italian seasoning. Stir well and let it bubble gently.
- Add the elbow macaroni and press it down into the sauce. Bring to a gentle boil.
- Reduce heat to simmer, cover the pot, and cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until pasta is tender and sauce is thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheese until melted, if desired.
Notes
Great for meal prepping and leftovers! This dish can be stored in the fridge for up to three days or frozen for two months.
