- 8 cups peeled and thinly sliced fresh peaches
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup salted butter (1 stick), room temperature
- 1 3/4 cup old-fashioned oats
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Butter a 9×9 baking pan and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, cornstarch, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the peach mixture into the prepared pan and set it aside.
- In the same bowl, cream together the brown sugar, the remaining 1/2 cup of flour, butter, and the last teaspoon of cinnamon until a wet, clumpy mixture forms.
- Stir in the oats to form a coarse mixture.
- Crumble the oat mixture evenly on top of the peaches.
- Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the topping turns a light golden color around the edges.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes to cool and set up.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.
Notes
For best flavor, use ripe, fresh peaches. This dessert pairs well with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
