Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional for searing)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- If using, heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sear each chicken breast for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden.
- In the crock pot, add the cream of chicken soup, ranch seasoning, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper; stir until smooth.
- Place the chicken breasts into the crock pot, spooning the sauce over the tops.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
- Remove the chicken to a cutting board and shred it with two forks, then return it to the crock pot and stir into the sauce.
- Stir in the sour cream, adjust seasonings, and if using, sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and let it melt before serving.
- Serve hot over rice, mashed potatoes, or stuffed into rolls.
