A stunning dessert that combines rich red velvet cake, creamy cheesecake, and a crunchy Oreo crust, perfect for impressing friends and family.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 ounce red food coloring
  • 3 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 20 Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1012 Oreo cookies (for topping)
  • Whipped cream (for topping)
  • Additional crushed Oreos (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Red Velvet Cake Layer: In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, combine egg, buttermilk, vegetable oil, vinegar, red food coloring, and vanilla. Combine both mixtures until smooth. Pour into a greased baking pan and bake until set.
  2. Prepare the Cheesecake Filling: In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add sour cream, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well. Add flour and mix until just combined.
  3. Prepare the Oreo Crust and Topping: Crush Oreo cookies and mix with melted butter. Press into the bottom of a springform pan. Set aside some crushed Oreos for topping later.
  4. Bake the Cheesecake: Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled red velvet cake layer. Bake in a preheated oven, using a water bath if available to prevent cracking.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Once cooled, top cheesecake with whipped cream, whole Oreos, and additional crushed Oreos.

Notes

Allow the cheesecake to cool completely in the oven with the door cracked open to prevent cracks.
