- 2 cups sourdough discard
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- Butter for brushing
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sourdough discard, warm water, olive oil, minced garlic, and sugar.
- Mix in the active dry yeast and let it sit for about 10 minutes until foamy.
- Gradually add in the flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the dough and divide it into small pieces.
- Shape each piece into a small ball and layer them in a greased bundt pan.
- Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with parsley if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before pulling apart and serving.
Notes
Dough can be prepared up to the point of rising and refrigerated overnight for convenience. Leftovers can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 days or frozen for longer storage.
