Description

Ingredients

  • 1 active sourdough starter
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the sourdough starter, water, and 2 cups of flour until combined. Stir until the mixture is shaggy.
  2. Add the salt and remaining flour, mixing until a rough dough forms.
  3. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 4 to 6 hours or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to heat up.
  7. Shape the dough into a round loaf and sprinkle the everything bagel seasoning on top.
  8. Transfer the dough to the hot Dutch oven, cover, and bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
