- 1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 3 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 3/4 cups cake flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- 1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 cup cultured buttermilk
- 2 cups diced peaches, skin on
- 1 tsp coarse sparkling sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly butter a 9×5 loaf pan and line it with parchment paper.
- In a stand mixer, cream the brown sugar and butter together until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and spices.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the stand mixer, alternating with the buttermilk.
- Gently fold in diced peaches into the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle the top with coarse sparkling sugar.
- Bake for 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing.
Notes
