Delicious and addictive cheese balls filled with cream cheese, cheddar, and jalapeños, coated in spiced breadcrumbs and fried to golden perfection.
Ingredients

- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced jalapeños, fresh or pickled
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 2 cups breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, cilantro, garlic powder, and onion powder until well blended.
- Form the mixture into balls about 1 inch in diameter.
- Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with chili powder and paprika.
- Dredge each ball in flour, dip in beaten egg, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pot or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry cheese balls in batches for 3 to 4 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For more flavor, use pickled jalapeños or a sharper cheddar cheese. Can be made ahead and frozen.
