Description

This Tater Tot Casserole combines ground beef, creamy soup, and crispy tater tots for a comforting family meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 (32 ounce) bag frozen tater tots
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional seasonings: garlic powder, paprika, or any favorite spices

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Add the diced onions and cook until they soften.
  3. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, and any optional spices you prefer. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and sour cream, mixing well. Heat through for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Grease a casserole dish and spread the beef mixture across the bottom.
  6. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the beef.
  7. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and crispy.
  9. Remove from the oven and top with the remaining cheese. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a healthier option, use ground turkey or add vegetables like peas or corn.
