Ingredients

For the Fried Chicken:

  • 2 cups of tender chicken thighs or wings
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups of oil for frying

For the Ice Cream:

  • 2 cups of vanilla ice cream or sugar-free ice cream
  • Optional: ½ cup of chopped fried chicken cooked and cooled

Instructions

Prepare the Fried Chicken:

  • Marinate the chicken in buttermilk for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best results).
  • In a bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper.
  • Coat the marinated chicken in the flour mixture.
  • Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes. Let cool and crumble into small pieces.

Make the Ice Cream:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, sugar (or sugar-free alternative), and vanilla extract until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Combine and Freeze:

  • Gently fold the crumbled fried chicken into the churned ice cream.
  • Transfer the mixture to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.
