  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ¾ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • ¼ cup soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 green onion sliced (for garnish)
  • Cooking spray or neutral oil for baking

Instructions
 

  • Make Batter: Combine flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, and water in a bowl to create a smooth coating mix.
  • Coat Cauliflower: Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, ensuring an even layer.
  • Bake: Arrange on a lined baking sheet and bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • Prepare Sauce: In a pan, heat sesame oil, then mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, syrup, and ginger until thick and glossy.
  • Combine: Toss baked cauliflower in the sauce until well coated.
  • Garnish: Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot.
